The Morowali Project consists in launching a nickel ore open pit mine on the island of Sulawesi (formerly known as Celebes) in Indonesia. The project plans include the construction of, among others, social buildings for employees, communication routes as well as a harbor for barges and transport vessels. In addition, the sale of wood obtained from the clearing of the forest and limestone mined in mountainous areas covered by the concession is assumed. The completion of the investment and the beginning of the ore production is planned for the second half of 2017. Extracted raw materials will be sold to local entities involved in their processing.
In the longer term an investment in installations for the processing of nickel ore to ferronickel (nickel iron alloy) is possible.
